In September 2025, the project “Protecting Lives, Building Resilience: Local Response to Human Trafficking” was launched. The project was officially introduced in Dibra through a presentation meeting with representatives of local institutions from the three municipalities of Dibra, Bulqiza and Klos.
The project aims to build safe communities where children, young people and families at risk receive the protection and support they need, while local institutions are empowered with the skills and tools to respond effectively. An important component of the project focuses on economic empowerment and the promotion of labor market inclusion, through career counseling, life skills development and self-employment opportunities.
During these four months of implementation, through the mobile preventive service “Reach and Support”, psychosocial activities were carried out in the administrative units of Bulqiza, Dibra and Klos, reaching 221 children and parents, along with awareness-raising campaigns involving 284 children, youth and adults.
A total of 120 individuals participated in the Socio-Economic Reintegration Program, with a focus on communication, teamwork, emotional intelligence and employability skills. Additionally, 34 young people from Bulqiza and Dibra took part in the Youth Resilience Bootcamp, a camp dedicated to building and strengthening their capacities in emotional resilience, digital safety, financial skills and effective communication for prevention and empowerment. These young participants later shared the knowledge gained with 274 of their peers.
Furthermore, 60 professionals from Dibra, Bulqiza and Klos successfully completed two-day training sessions focused on the prevention of human trafficking, through early identification and strengthening inter-institutional coordination at the local level. Participants were introduced to the main risk factors, initial assessment of situations, and guiding indicators for the timely identification of cases of victims and potential victims.
